Ashton relaunched La Aroma de Cuba’s premium line Noblesse this past summer. It was somewhat limited in that only 750 boxes of each size were produced, and it was only made available to 300 accounts.
Wrapper: Mexican San Andres
Binder: Nicaraguan
Filler: Nicaraguan
Size: Robusto 5 1/2 x 50
Upon lighting, the Regency gives a burst of earthiness and unsweetened cocoa, along with creamy coffee notes. The retrohale brings out black pepper and cedar, adding a pleasant spiciness.
In the second third, the flavors evolved to include graham cracker, fig, and caramel, with white pepper in the retrohale. The overall blend is smooth, well-balanced, and complex.
In the final third, the cigar deepens into flavors of oak, earth, and dark chocolate. There is charred oak and black pepper in the retrohale complimenting the richer tones of the back third of the cigar.
The construction was impeccable, with a straight and thin burn line from start to finish. The ash was white and not at all flaky, indicating the high quality of its construction and of the tobaccos used. The draw was perfect.
The La Aroma de Cuba Noblesse Regency is not just blowing smoke, it is a cigar that delivers on all fronts. I was not expecting to enjoy it as much as I did. Its rich and complex flavor profile, combined with excellent construction and burn make it extremely enjoyable. Highly recommended.
