Camp Aladino Gorbusto Corojo Review

JRE Tobacco has introduced a special line of cigars known as Camp Aladino, available in Corojo, Cameroon, and Maduro wrappers. These cigars are exclusively offered at retailers who have visited the Aladino farm in Honduras. The line comes in only one vitola—a 4 1/2 x 60 “Gorbusto.”

  • Wrapper: Honduran Corojo
  • Binder: Undisclosed
  • Filler: Undisclosed
  • Size: 4 1/2 x 60

The medium brown wrapper is tightly rolled with no soft spots. The draw is excellent, offering an effortless pull. Right off the bat, the cigar delivers a spicy profile with dominant cedar notes. The body starts at a medium-plus to full intensity. After a few minutes, a creaminess emerges, rounding out the spice. On the retrohale, I pick up strong baking spice and wood. The finish carries a bright zing reminiscent of lemon pepper. The ash is firm, white, and not flaky, falling after about an inch. The burn line is thin and fairly even.

As the cigar progresses, cedar remains the backbone of the profile, but new notes emerge—almonds, baking spice, and a touch of creaminess. The burn evens out, making for a more consistent experience. The body settles into a medium to medium-plus range.

In the final third, there were notes of raw almonds, wood, and creamy citrus take center stage, creating a beautifully balanced and nuanced finish. The burn is now razor-sharp. Almond butter makes an appearance, while a cedary spice lingers on the finish.

This is an solid performer—on the stronger side for an Aladino, with impeccable construction and plenty of smoke output. The flavor profile is deep, complex, and unmistakably Aladino. Definitely #pipeworthy—and that’s not just blowing smoke! Highly recommended.
