The Perdomo 30th Anniversary Sun Grown Epicure is a cigar that honors Nick Perdomo’s 30 years in the cigar industry, celebrated in 2022. Each of the three blends in the line features 15-year-old tobaccos, with the wrappers receiving extra aging time in bourbon barrels. For the Sun Grown Epicure, the wrapper is barrel-aged for an additional ten months.

The Perdomo 30th Anniversary Sun Grown Epicure sports a red-brown wrapper. It is smooth but slightly toothy and firm, with no soft spots. The draw is good, with sweet cedar and hay notes on the cold draw.
The cigar has notes of cedar, oak, cinnamon spice, and toast. It burns evenly with darker gray ash and a nice burn line. The smoke is creamy and smooth, with black pepper and charred oak in the retrohale. Hints of unsweetened dark chocolate occasionally appear. The finish includes wood, nuts, cream, and a light cinnamon sweetness. The ash fell at about an inch.
The cigar remains very consistent, with some of that good aged tobacco mustiness coming into play in the second third. There were a few other changes as well. The cinnamon sweetness and spice of the first third have faded, and there is more cream on the finish, which lingers a bit more. Black and white pepper are present in the retrohale, more than in the first third, but still no pepper on the palate.
In the final third, the cigar has notes of cedar, oak, hay, and some caramel, along with lingering wood notes on the finish. The burn remains straight as an arrow.
The Perdomo 30th Anniversary Sun Grown Epicure is a solid performer. It is medium-bodied and maybe medium in strength. It is well-balanced and has great construction. Not just blowing smoke. Recommended.
