Holy Hot Cakes Batman!

The HVC Hot Cake Fresh Out of the Oven Half Corona just arrived. At 3.5 x 44 it looks like it takes longer to say its name than to smoke it. Is this little cigar worth looking up?

The HVC Hot Cake Fresh Out of the Oven Half Corona may have one of the longest names given to such a short cigar! Limited to 350 boxes of 25.

  • Wrapper: Connecticut Broadleaf
  • Binder: Nicaraguan
  • Filler: Nicaraguan
  • Size: Half Corona 3 1/2 x 44

The wrapper is a nice dark mottled brown. The draw is smooth and presents barnyard, earth, and sweetness on the cold draw. Upon lighting, there are notes of cocoa, cream, coffee, and flour. It leaves a finish that reminds me of fresh hot cakes. Cigars of this ring gauge need to be smoked with a softer cadence to avoid burning too hot. The burn is even. The ash is gray, slightly flaky, and falls naturally at about half an inch. The second half remains consistent with the first, retaining its sweetness. It is medium-bodied and medium in strength.

The HVC Hot Cake Fresh Out of the Oven Half Corona is a great short cigar that is sure to please lovers of Connecticut Broadleaf. It is very smooth, creamy, and approachable. I think just about anyone could smoke it and enjoy it. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that it is under $6 per cigar. The only problem with this cigar is its limited run. It is certainly not just blowing smoke! Highly recommended.
