According to the Molon Labe website, company owner Steven Bartell while traveling in Miami ran into a master blender from Cuba, who gave him one of his cigars. Bartell liked it so much that he founded the Molon Labe company to distribute them. Talk about being in the right place at the right time…

The Fuera de Serie Nicaragua Maduro Toro features a dark, Maduro wrapper. The construction appears good, with a firm feel and no visible veins or soft spots. Before lighting, the cigar offers aromas of cocoa, earth, and a hint of spice from the foot. The cold draw is smooth, with flavors of dark chocolate and a subtle sweetness.
Upon lighting, it opens with a notes of dark chocolate, espresso, and black pepper. The smoke is thick and creamy. The burn is even, and the ash holds firm.
As the cigar progresses into the second third, the initial boldness mellows slightly, with a pleasant spiciness and some mineral notes in the retrohale, and cocoa and cream on the finish.
In the final third, there are espresso notes in the forefront with a subtle sweetness lingering on the finish. The burn remains consistent, and the cigar never becomes harsh or bitter.
The Fuera de Serie Nicaragua Maduro Toro is a straightforward medium bodied cigar that pairs with a cup of coffee or a dram of one of Molon Labe’s whiskeys. Tt is a solid cigar on the lower end of the current market average price for a cigar, and that is not just blowing smoke. Recommended. By the way, Steve will be at Twins on February 27th for an event featuring Molon Labe cigars and spirits. You can catch the details below.
