The Aladino Corojo Reserva No. 4 was an annual release for several years from JRE Tobacco, featuring higher priming leaves from their authentic Honduran Corojo that were aged between 4-5 years. Each release was limited to 800 boxes.

The cigar has a reddish-brown wrapper and is tightly rolled. In spite of its firmness, it offers an excellent draw with flavors of leather, wood, spice, and a light sweetness on the cold draw. Upon lighting, notes of cedar, baking spice, and brown sugar emerge, with a cedar woody pepper spice in the retrohale. The finish includes almond butter, wood, and leather, with light coffee or espresso notes reminiscent of crema. The construction is excellent, with a thin and even burn and light gray ash that holds strong.

Seriously, how many cigars would you trust to hold like that without dropping one bit of ash into your drink?
As the cigar progresses, there are graham cracker notes on the finish, with all the spice in the retrohale and not on the finish. The flavors become nutty, rich, cedary, and creamy. The back half of the cigar gets more cedary, with a deeper, darker cedar flavor that is not as sweet. The almond butter notes disappear, leaving cedar, espresso, and a lightly sweet baking spice on the finish. The burn is slow and very pleasant, with no construction issues.
The No. 4 offers a flavorful and nuanced experience of what JRE’s authentic Honduran Corojo can offer. In fact, I think I can say it has been my favorite vitola in the Corojo Reserva line. If you find these at a local shop, pick them up! I hope that at some point in the not-too-distant future, Justo will bring these back because this cigar is not just blowing smoke! Highly recommended.
