Liga Privada H99 Robusto

The H99 gets its name from its wrapper leaf, a hybrid between Habano and Corojo seeds grown in the Connecticut River Valley exclusively for Drew Estate.

  • Wrapper: Connecticut Corojo
  • Binder: San Andres
  • Filler: Honduran, Nicaraguan
  • Size: Robusto 5 1/2 x 54

The H99 Robusto has a reddish-brown wrapper and is tightly packed. It gives off a light hay aroma from the foot. The cold draw is pleasant with notes of hay, caramel, and a hint of earth.

Upon lighting, the cigar presents flavors of hay, cedar, and leather. The ash is white and holds for over an inch before naturally falling off. The burn is even with a thin burn line. The retrohale brings out red pepper and cedar spice. The finish is dry with notes of cedar, hay, and baking spice.

As the cigar progresses, flavors of earth, coffee, and cedar emerge, with hints of dark cocoa. In the final third, deeper wood notes of oak and earth are prominent, along with a sweeter finish featuring toasted caramel. The finish remains dry with cedar spice and leather notes.

Overall, the H99 Robusto is medium-bodied and medium in strength. The construction was excellent, and the burn was superb. It offers some complexity, but the blend seems to focus more on remaining consistent. Not just blowing smoke, and is recommended.
