HU Tobacco’s Nebari is a ribbon cut blend of Virginia, Burley, Orientals, and Perique. After opening the tin, it feels like it might need some drying time (this turned out not to be the case) and had a light and pleasant tin note. The Orientals and Burley combine in interesting ways, creating a kind of honeydew-sweetness. It has a forward floral spice, along with flavors of cedar, citrus, and nuts. I do not sense much Perique on the pallet. It is more evident in the retro which has that figgy spice common with Perique. That honeydew like sweetness changes to be more cocoa and nutty towards the end of the bowl.

The “HU” In HU Tobacco stands for “Handmade and Unique,” and Nebari fits that description as this is a blend that has very unique flavors that required some deeper thought to try and put into words. It is a curious and nuanced blend that is certainly not just blowing smoke. Recommended.
