3 Leaf is a new boutique brand owned by Erik Wentworth and James Ferreira. The cigars are made at an undisclosed factory in the Dominican Republic. Erik made a name for himself in the cigar world as the VP of Hammer + Sickle cigars. It is good to see him back in the game.

The 3 Leaf Connecticut 48 x 6, an aptly descriptive if not very imaginatively named cigar, features a silky smooth golden brown wrapper and offers a cold draw with flavors of hay, cream, and nuts.
After lighting, I picked up notes of bread, cedar, nuts, and hay. The retrohale brings an earthy light pepper, while the overall profile is smooth with undertones of cream. The finish is nutty and slightly tart. The light gray ash is firm and holds easily for an inch or more, with a good even burn and a very even burn line.

As I progress through the cigar, the cedar and hay notes increase after the first half. The initial flavors of cream, bread, and nuts fade and then return. The tart note on the finish disappears, leaving a more pronounced cedar and nutty taste.
The 3 Leaf Connecticut 48 x 6 is mild in body and even milder in strength. I had no issues with construction or burn. The flavors were straightforward and consistent. For those reasons, I find the 3 Leaf Connecticut 48 x 6 to be not just blowing smoke. If you enjoy mild cigars, I recommend giving this a try. You will be glad you did.
